About me
What inspired me?
My passion for music was inspired during high school when I had the privilege of participating in top level singing ensembles. It was then when I realized the value that music provided: a constant source of joy, expression, and close knit community that forever impacted me. I also had the unique opportunity of touring through Italy to sing in venues such as Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
Why do I teach?
I have been surrounded by music ever since I can remember... I have personally experienced the benefits that only music can provide and I long to share my experiences and passions with as many people as possible. I strongly believe that studying and learning music can improve both cognitive development and personal achievement. I am very eager to meet new students and help them grow and explore their passions.
What is my musical background?
I have not only received my Bachelors Degree of Music in Vocal Performance, but have studied piano, flute, classical choral singing, and musical theatre, all grounding me with a versatile background that I apply to my vocal teaching methods in a fun and effective manner. Along with my musical experiences, my passion for teaching began long before my college career. I began teaching swim lessons as a teenager, worked as a camp counselor and even a camp director throughout my college years. This amazing opportunity allowed me to teach horseback riding and other outdoor skills. Acting as camp director not only developed my growth as a teacher, but helped me become an experienced planner in creating a fun environment that catered to a variety of ages and activities.
